For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a writer. The problem was that I couldn’t really think of a career that would let me actually do that.
I considered being an English teacher (my skin isn’t thick enough to handle teenagers), a journalist (The Devil Wears Prada freaked me out), or a lawyer (I’m not sure why that was an option, I think I just liked winning arguments).
Then I found copywriting and marketing and I realised that I could do something I loved every single day.
13 years later, I still love what I do just as much as I did when I first started. Over the years I’ve worked in more industries than I can count including IT, legal, food and drink, fashion and beauty, lifestyle, and travel. I’ve worked with some big brands including IFS, American Express, Salesforce, Clyde & Co, Tesco, Pinch of Nom, and Very.co.uk, and I’ve also helped several smaller businesses, sole traders, and startups.
I’ve written everything from product descriptions and blogs, to email campaigns and website content (basically, if it’s got words, I’ve probably written it). I’ve also helped authors develop and market books, ghostwritten a bestselling recipe book and managed social media for brands with over 1 million followers (swanky).
I’m also a speaker and trainer and have presented internationally and around the UK on the topics of marketing, LinkedIn, and AI to audiences of various sizes (that was a MASSIVE deal for an introvert like me).
When I’m not burying my head in a book, I can usually be found with a glass of wine, my two cats, and Stardew Valley. I’m on a personal mission to dye my hair every colour of the rainbow and I have over 500 different bottles of nail polish.
